Orchard Valley Ceramics Arts Guild on sat 10 aug 02
Our guild has scheduled several upcoming workshops:
Paperclay with Linda Mau - 9/29/02
Linda Mau will share her experience using PAPERCLAY for armatures, molding,
as well as slab vessels and sculpture in this hands-on workshop. The class will
include demonstrations on how to prepare your own PAPERCLAY, it's unique
working properties, and how to incorporate steel elements for unique effects.
There will also be demonstrations and hands-on participation of patina
applications as well as smoking techniques.
$30 for Guild members - $40 for non-members
Building a Strong Foundation with Danny Sheu - 10/13/02
Danny Sheu is an extremely talented potter who also has a knack for teaching
and for original design. Advanced wheel students as well as beginning students
have made great progress under his instruction. "Most of the
difficulties that
keep students from progressing with their throwing come from the lack of a
proper foundation." Danny, with demonstration and clear instruction will show
you how to achieve this foundation.
$30 for Guild members - $40 for non-members
Developing Personal Narrative in Clay with Sara Swink -
10/20/02 through 11/10/02 (Four consecutive Sundays)
Developing Personal Narrative in Clay is an ideal vehicle for storytelling.
Drawing off of guided excursions in collage, doodling and clay, we will uncover
dreams, memories, desires, understandings, mysteries, and insights, out of
which you can craft your own symbolic stories. From there we will look at
ways to combine the emergent vocabulary in clay and on paper, letting unique
personal narratives unfold.
$215 for Guild members - $240 for non-members
