Ron, can you step in and give Compressive Modulus for Axner's Mary's ^6 Porcelain ?? I assume there is probably a range, depending on moisture content.

Is this one of the measurements that you take when standardizing clay bodies?

Dear Jim Kasper,

Sorry but Axner clays are not, as far as I know, imported "down Under"

From the crude measurements I have been able to get via an "Indentation" =
test using a square 45=B0 pyramid the porcelain clay I use seems to give =
a value less than 1 Kg. per Sq. Cm.

But this will decrease when you start throwing due to adsorbtion of more =
water and the effect of thixotropy.

Interesting to think about.
