I am in search of Susanne Stephenson's vitreous engobe and slip formulas
that were printed in the NCECA journal, 2001 meeting in Charlotte, NC. If
anyone has the publication and is willing to take the time to e-mail me
those, I will be most grateful. Please e-mail to: sprungarch@hotmail.com
Thank you.

Why don't you try it yourself?
To your favorite engob add 5, 10, and up to 50% frit.

According to the staff at the NCECA office, Aurore Chabot's continuing
illness has delayed the publication of the 2001 journal. The journal is
apparently at the printers now and should be mailed some time in September.
I'm not sure how these delays will impact the journal for the 2002
conference in KC.

Susanne Stephenson's contact information is in the NCECA Directory (NCECA
Members, which includes those in attendance at the conference, should have
received their copies...) It may be possible to request contact information
through the NCECA office.

Since I had the email address at my fingertips when I checked for it in the
directory, I have taken the liberty of forwarding your message to her and
suggesting that, if she is not subscribed to clayart, I would be willing to
forward the information to the list. I will forward anything that I receive.

Best Wishes,

Andi.

I believe that Suzanne may be out of town. However...Recently I was
experimenting with some cone 04 pieces and fortuitously ran into Suzanne
just before trying out various engobes and glazes. One of the recipes I
had was her Engobe from Susan Peterson's book. Suzanne said not to use it
because it actually was a higher fire engobe; then, after checking,
proceeded to give me the following recipe for cone 04.

SUZANNE STEPHENSON'S VITREOUS ENGOBE, VC 3-1

Ferro frit 3269** 44
Neph Syenite 11
OM4 Ball Clay 28
Flint 17

TOTAL 100

** Since we didn't have 3269, I asked about 3195 and she thought that it
would be fine
