Since 1991 Judith Duff has been a full-time studio potter in North =
Carolina. While earning degrees in biology and painting she discovered =
clay as a way to express form in three dimensions. Working with various =
clays, Judith makes functional and one-of-a-kind pots with a strong =
emphasis on form and surface character. She fires both wood and gas and =
has studied throughout the United States and Japan. She has exhibited =
nationally and internationally at many juried and invitational shows. In =
2002 Judith made her third trip to Japan where she spent two months =
teaching, making pots, firing kilns and participating in exhibitions. She =
has taught in workshops throughout the United States and contributed =
articles to Studio Potter and The Log Book.
Join us in welcoming Judith as she demonstrates her way of working the =
unlimited possibilities of clay through wheel thrown and slab construction.=
Basic forms will be altered and expanded upon. Topics such as marketing, =
developing your own personal style and point of view, and the visual =
aspects of handles, knobs, spouts, and the relationships of parts will =
also be discussed. =20
