raku kiln door

I've built a small front loading raku kiln out of soft brick and am trying
to figure out a way to attach the Fiberfrax door. The opening is 24" x 24".
My initial plan was to attach a pole to the door and prop it on the ground
in front of the kiln. I've used this type of door before and it works fine,
just a hassle getting the pole attached to the hardware cloth. I've also
thought about jutting out the row of bricks one course below the door and
resting it on the ledge there, but am concerned it may fall down. Any ideas?
I do not have angle iron on the side edges of the kiln, otherwise that would
be a good place for attaching a door. I've got Steve Branfman's book, but
doors for front loaders aren't discussed too much. Thanks for your
suggestions.

i've done the 'brick jutting out' idea as a ledge to support door - works
fine, and you don't need to have too big an overhang. made door from old
fridge shelf with fibre held on with wire/buttons - again OK. use old piece
of metal leaning on door to hold in place. doesn't need to be attached -
just heavy enough to stay where you put it.
