My kiln is complete and has been fired 5 times so far.
1) the saagars came out beautifully and I am so excited about the potential
this has for me. Does using a terra sig make up for the ware that has been
underfired?
2) the raku...not hot enough. It seems to stall at about 1600F and I
haven't figured out the cause yet. #1....I had the tiger torch head too far
in the firebox and not enough air to get the propane hotter? #2....the
recycled brick (many corner chips) allows more air in than should be in
#3....I need another torch.
3) despite having the shelf crack over the firebox part of the kiln...it
has not collapsed. I was prepared for that to happen.
4) I cooked teriyaki salmon in the firebox...took less than a minute while
the fire box was cooling. The next night? pizza to perfection (minus the
blackened crust on top) in 1.5 minutes
thanks for all your help and best wishes

Underfired is still underfired. The terra sig will seal the
surface to some extent, but it will remain more fragile than
a piece fired to maturity.
