Raritan Valley Community College is centrally located on the outskirts of
Somerville (central NJ) just off Rt. 78. They have an excellent ceramics
department chaired by Ann Tsubota (who also encourages exploration of
other art mediums and trips to New York City museums and galleries to
enhance your clay work!). They have 4 electric kilns, 1 brand new gas
kiln, 4 raku kilns, three very organized glaze areas (electric/gas/raku),
and an extensive collection of ceramic books in the college library.
Rutgers and Princeton Universities are within a half hour drive.
Ceramic Supply in Lodi (N. Jersey) carries a full line of supplies,
kilns, wheels, chemicals, etc. They also offer workshops.
