This thread has piqued the interest of quite a few people on the list. Due
in part to the shear volume of comments, I still don't have a clear picture
of what is happening here. Would it be possible for someone who understands
this process to write it up along with some sketches? Could we get it
published in the Clayart ideas column of Clay Times? I, for one, would
certainly appreciate it.

Dear Bruce Girrell,

I have an article in preparation but need to complete the illustrations. =
Since it falls into the category of advanced techniques it may not be =
suitable for Pottery Making Illustrated so I will more than likely send =
it to Janet Mansfield since it is a subject which seems more in keeping =
with the ethos of Ceramics Technical (and Patriotic!).

What amazes me is that it is such an old methodology, been around for =
about a thousand years. Yet none of the popular authors have stumbled =
across it, inspite of the oriental training many have received. Looks =
like Bruce Cuma has stumbled into the right environment at the right =
time, as the description he gave a couple of days ago is very close to =
what I dicovered about the technique.

Best regards,

Ivor.

Dear Ivor,

An article with pictures would be excellent! Please let me know when you do
come out with it. I'd like to see it in Pottery Making Illustrated since I
subscribe to it, but I wherever you publish it would help me understand
more. You have given good descriptions but pictures I feel would make it all
much clearer. A small video with different angles would even be better...
from the side, from the potter's view, etc.

Please keep me posted.
