I am in the position that I have too many kilns now and have to get
rid of one. I thought of the one below because of it's smaller size
and weight might be perfect for someone.

***************************************************************

This is a used Paragon E-188 Cone 03 front loading kiln. The interior
dimensions are 17" x 8" x 17.5" and the rated maximum temperature is
2000 degrees. It uses a 240v NEMA 5-30r receptacle and draws 15 amps.
The unit weights approx. 105 lbs.
I actually found this kiln stored in an old barn. I used a Rotozip
tool to uncover the rust and grime on the outside and used compound
to polish the outside. I opened up the wiring box and replaced and
cleaned the connections inside and replaced the power cord. I then
proceeded to fire twice. The first firing (on high taking about 3
hours) went to Cone 04 which translates as around 1940 - 1980 degrees
F.

The second firing was with ware inside. This firing followed the 4
hour cycle on low with 3 hours on medium and then after 4 hours on
high it reached slightly above cone 03 (2050 - 2080 degrees).

This means that it would be perfect for the following kiln-related
arts:

Earthenware
Cone 06-04 Slipware
Glass Glumping
Glass Melting
Precious Metal Clay
Bisque-Firing Stoneware or Porcelain
This kiln is not reccommended for high-fire applications..

If you intent to do porcelain or stoneware this kiln will bisque fire
it fine but will not get hot enough to high-fire it.

I have no idea how old this kiln is. I called up Paragon and they
have no record of its serial number. This probably means that it is
more than 20 years old. I know, from looking at the elements, that
they have been replaced before, but as to how old they are I have no
idea. The hole for the pyrometer is in all the E-series kilns. Most
people who do Precious Metal Clay or glass usually use a pyrometer.
This kiln does not require it to work. It is a manual kiln and it
thus controlled from the 4-stage switch only.

If you identify yourself as a Clayart subscriber I would be willing
to sell it to ya'll for $ 150.00 instead of the listed price on e-bay.

I hope I am posting this in the right spot?
