Dear Paul,
You could draw on the outside end of the Cap, with a felt pen, the diameter
of the area you want removed...take it to a small Machine Shop and ask them
what kind of beer they like...
Or similar...
A medium size Metal Lathe with a capable operative can have that Cap end
'out'...in about 5 or 10 minutes start to finish...
Easy for them to do...makes a nice clean hole...if the edges are a little
sharp, you can dull them as you please with a file or something...
