I may have missed discussion on this, but the NCECA page has a dearth of information about where the conference will be based and I am wondering if anyone knows the 'main' hotel or hotels it will be held in/around? Thanks in advance.

Mishy, thinking hotel reservations....

Mishy
the conference will held at the "Town and Country", A hotel/conference
center in part of San Diego known as 'Hotel Circle'
which is also in part of San Diego known as 'Mission Valley", (i.e.,
not in the heart of downtown San Diego, or on the waterfront.
As the name 'hotel 'circle ' indicates, there are many hotels and
motels in the area, quite a spread really, from budget chains to luxury
places.

If you choose other accommodations in hotel circle be aware that there
is a major freeway (Interstate 8) bisecting Hotel circle from East to
West and hwy 163 cutting in from N to S . Also I-5 closes in on the
west. All of the accompanying traffic and on and off ramps make hotel
circle a bit maze like. So getting from one hotel to another can be a
bit of a hassle in a car, and certainly not pedestrian friendly, Even
though hotels may sound like they are close together , as the crow
flies, it can be a bit circuitous getting from one to the other. Not
completely overwhelming, just something to be aware of.

The Town and Country is located on the north side of I-8 and is
adjacent to the 'San diego Trolley' line . The trolley travels
regularly and frequently , for a very reasonable price to Old Town .
Little Italy, the Gaslamp district and Downtown San Diego , and other
locations (for restaurants, galleries, etc.) which are only a few
minutes away. And with a car, these areas are not very far away either,
maybe 10-15 minutes.

The Town and Country is on a large property, pretty spread out , and has
small bungalow type units as well as a 'tower'.
