borax frit and feldspars in my glaze tests

Dear Clayart,
In all of my tests I use Forshammer Feldspar, which if I recall =
properly, is a midway feldspar between Potash and Sodaspar.
Tom Buck has the best information to offer on the differences and what =
you can expect in the results. =20
I have used it all of my glazes regardless of the Feldspar called for, =
with good results.

The Borax Frit I use is called either 169 or 623, depending on who is =
selling it. It is very common here, especially as a Raku=20
Feldspar. It contains Barium, I think 7.0, but I can also send the =
analysis again when I get my notebook from the studio.
I use it in all my glazes instead of Gerstely Borate. It does give a =
slightly better melt in the glazes and for the same reason, Barium,
is not considered a good substitute for G.B, but it is what I have =
available. =20
