Tan Satin Matte, cone 6 redux, fired to cone 6 ox.

Glaze tested on white midrange stoneware fired in electric oxidation to =
1220c.

Firing ramp:
100c p/h to 600c (212f - 1112f)
150c p/h to 1100c (330f - 2012f)=20
100c p/h to 1220c (212f - 2228f)
cool down max. per hour to 1100c=20
cool 80c per hour to 800c
shut off kiln

Recipe:
4.5 Zinc Oxide
10.0 Whiting
2.10 Talc
11.0 Barium Carb.
42.0 F4 Feldspar
8.3 EPK
8.0 Ball Clay
14.0 Silica

ADD
5.0 Rutile

Note: All raw materials are measured up or down to the nearest whole =
decimal. =20
Colorants or additives to a 100 gram test batch are measured in percent =
to the 100 gram test batch.

Substitutions:
Local feldspar for F4

Results:
Smooth, covering, waxy, beige tan matte glaze with tiny white crystals.

This may test out to be a stable glaze but the alumina is on the high side
so don't say I said it would be. The expansion is on the hig side but it
may be a matte glaze if it's cooled slow and that will change the expansion
Substituting strontium at 8 for the 11 Barium keeps the glaze the same but
lowers the expansion - In tests I have done I like the strotium browns
better than the Barium browns.
