It ain't the size of the kiln, it's what you put
into it. Ventilate WELL if you're going to be that
close.

If you've got room for it, and still have enough
space to work, then it's a good size. I can't
think how else the size of the studio could matter.

I am making a 12 by 13 room with 18" cabinets in two sides into a studio and was wondering if the space I'm working in limits the size of kiln i can have for reasons other than physical size, air circulation or health reasons etc. all the studios I've worked in either had separate kiln rooms or were much larger spaces.

Thanks: Liam

Liam,
For safety's sake, allow ample room on all sides of the kiln to work
around it when it is hot.
The best way to determine this in advance is to draw a plan view look at
the room on some paper, to some scale. Then make, on a separate paper and
to the same scale, plan view drawings of the kiln and other things that will
be in the room. Then cut out the kiln and other items (make paper dolls of
them) and try different arrangements on your plan view of the room. You can
measure right away the amount of space around the kiln for any arrangement
you choose.
Try to imagine the space you will need for ware and kiln shelves and
kiln furniture while loading and unloading. Try to imagine the space you
will need to get to the kiln controls, to look in the peep hole(s), etc.
I don't know the size of your kiln, but I fear you may find your room is
small. :-(
