texas highways magazine article

updated thu 26 sep 02

For the Texans out there:
There is a nice article, with lots of photos, about the Texas Clay
Festival in the new (October) issue of Texas Highways magazine.
Also an interesting sidebar about early Texas potteries. Several
slaves continued making pottery after they were emancipated,
in what scholars consider the first Black-owned business in
Texas.

Is Texas Highways magazine only available through subscription or is it =
carried in some of the bigger bookstores like Border's and Barnes & =
Noble?

Actually, it's pretty easy to find. Even the Wal-Mart in Jacksonville
has it.
I have been amazed at how many people have called and e-mailed
saying they saw my picture in Texas Highways, so I guess it's
pretty popular.
A picture in Clay Times or Ceramics Monthly will get you no response
except from a few potter-friends !
