Maine is a good state, we saw lots of potters while we were there. There is
a place called Mainly Potters. To my knowledge they have a web site but I
can't seem to locate it. Bob Leek (on Clay Art) was kind enough to email
some information about the area. In addition to Seagrove, western North
Carolina has a considerable concentration of potters. You can access this
information through the Chamber of Commerce. There is a book with artist of
North Carolina. The San Juan Islands particularly Orcas Island has some
great potters as well as Seattle, British Columbia and Vancouver. I recently
had a great conversation with a woman at Georgies Ceramic and Clay Co. who
said there is a heavy concentration of potters in Oregon. I have never
traveled there, but sure would like to visit.
