Does anyone know if it possible to fire slabs of 56cm x 46cm upright =
instead of resting flat on kiln shelves.I'm sure I've read this =
somewhere and looked everywhere but cannot find any information. Due to =
the weight of my kiln shelves I can only fire pieces of 36cm x 41cm. So =
this way of firing would solve my problem.=20
Thank you for any help ....Gaynor

If you greatly underfire, you can do it. After all, you do it with bisque
ware. If the clay is not vitrified, it will not be very strong. If you
fire to the right temp. it will slump, or otherwise deform. So, your
options are not great, IMHO. Maybe you could try it with a piece you have
not put a lot of time and work into. From Rikki in Berkeley.
