tammy,
we make a lot of our own beads and have found stoneware^6 or porcelain
either to be fine. we have found the bead tree set up to be really painful
and time consuming. like to find a better moustrap as far as that goes.
we have gotten some amazing results with oxide washes and this type of
thing,no need for the bead tree,just put them right on the shelf surrounded
by extra shelf stilts (so they dont roll off under and disapear) this way we
can do a large pile at once with no trouble.
