potters wheels & slab roller review

updated tue 1 oct 02

I am going to buy a slab roller. I have poured over Jonathan's article but
still feel the need for some ranking and/or personal opinions. I guess what
I was looking for was a Consumers Report... the good, bad & the ugly.
I think what might be a good addition is a ranking for body types... short,
tall, little old feisty ladies etc. That way I might have realized before I
bought my kiln that that I could fall into it only to be found days later
with only my feet sticking out of the top!->
So anyone who is vertically challenged say about 5ft tall and has slab
roller send me your review.

Jonathan,

One thing I was disappointed in with regard to your article is that the
reviewers just told a general description about each wheel and din't rank
'em. I think I would have at least done a 10-point scale thing.

Exactly what I was looking for, but Johnathan says that wasn't the point of
the article. I found the article to be more of a free advertisement for the
wheel mfrs - none touted above the others, just each listed with its
features.

Hey Jonathan, I have suggestion for another article. Get a set of people of
various sizes: 1 average height (5'6"), one short (5' or shorter), 1 tall
(6'), and 1 very tall (over 6'). Have each of them use each wheel and then
tell pros and cons according to their size. Also, have rankings on scale of
1-10 for things like noise, stability, pedal, splash pan removal, etc. Give
averages for each.

Maybe more like say, the 'Miss America' pageant...

Can she walk, and how 'well'?
Sing?
Read notes?
Does she like 'puppies' and cuddley things?
Does she dot her nominal letter "I" with a little circle or
heart?
Shall the attire of a 'Bathing Suit' flatter the interests
or eleicit admiration of the judges?

Judges annotate Cards with evaluations for the Catagories...

Unnofficial 'catagories' as may otherwise remain discreet,
could be in this case made plain.

The opinions of the judges in the evaluations within
specific Catagories can be then lain out in Columns.

Like that...
