I have a "kneeling chair".
I don't use it to throw but...
I used it to sit at the table, eat, read, and write for a few years
...until my back settled down.

Using such while throwing a chair sound possible.
The chairs are usually adjustable in one way or another for height.

One thing for me...
I have a Creative Industries potter's chair...
it's not perfect, but...
it's great for its saddle seat, and the gas cylinder height adjuster.
I have to put a lumbar roll below the bottom edge of the seat back.
I like to center seated high and pull seated low.

Helen,

I think if you set your pedal up on a block, and fix the chair so it can't
roll away with you, it could be doable. :)
