To Clayarters, If you reply to Randy's post, please do it on ClayArt, or
send a copy to me (whichever Mel prefers). I have a 2827g Olympic updraft
which I have fired only once. I used only 2 shelves for pots with a third
shelf 2 inches below the top hole. there was a huge difference temperature
wise between the top and bottom shelves. I put my shelves like Randy's
first. I'd appreciate any advice, hints, etc.
Thanks, Celeste in Montgomery, AL

Ditto to the below. I just installed an Olympic 2827G and need all the hints
I can pick up, from people who actually have experience with it. Please no,
" I never tried it, but this might work" stuff.

Dale, I am going to call Rob Haugen next week at Olympic. I will let you
know what he says on the 2831g. I have fired mine 6 times and have tried
numerous configurations, but I still get 4 to 6 cone difference or better
between the top and bottom of the kiln. It is always much hotter at the
top. Most of the time it is about cone 9 at the top before a cone 5 will
melt at the bottom. I have been trying to fire to cone 6 and have been
losing most of my glazed pots on the bottom and middle shelves.

I am determined to make it work and have recently gotten some suggustions on
clayart that I have not tried.
