the german burner question again

I have some more information on the German Burners I mentioned before
on this list.

The burners are 3 1/16" long with an adjustable orifice plug which
connects to a 1/2" NBT connector.

The orifice plug and screw are exactly 1" long.

The orifice is a # 55 for Natural Gas.

The primary air is supplied through 4- 1/4" holes around the orifice
and another 6 - 3/16" holes around the barrel.

The Burner circumference around the barrel is 5 1/4" and the inside
diameter is 1 1/4" with the outside being 1 1/2" inches.

From the wear and pitting in the metal and the conversation I had
with the previous owner leads me to believe that this burner was
probably manufactured in the 70's for natural gas furnace
applications and under 10 psi has a rating of 250,000 but/hr. Though
this is questionable

If anyone can identify this burner and its characteristics I would
sure appreciate it!!!

Steven,

Is it possible that someone has taken the burners from a couple of blow
torches
and converted them into burners for a kiln? My smallest blowtorch is exactly
the dimensions you give right down to the holes, orifices are cheap and
simple
to change , plus the fact that this gives you a very cheap burner "IF YOU
KNOW
WHAT YOU ARE DOING".
Regards,
Bob Hollis

Can I post your pictures of the blower to Kalkplatz(German Clay site) maybe
someone there knows about the blowers. If I get an answer I'll translate it
an send it on to the list. Kenn in Hanau, Germany
