Hello Charles and all,
Thanks for sharing these great Dali quotes. It
reminded me of my favourite Dali statement that I read
years ago in a bio. I don't have the book, so I can't
quote it verbatim, but it went something like this...
Someone once asked Dali if he took drugs or smoked
opiates,or something along those lines, and he
responded, something to the effect of, "No, I AM the
opiate, take me, I am the drug."
Personally, I've never thought of myself as a "drug,"
but as a recovering alkie, I certainly sometimes feel
now as though my work process is a "drug". I can get
as high and lost in clay as I ever did on
booze.....and I get in a lot less trouble to boot!!
