Dear Joyce,=20
Thank you for your kind words. Your request for something for PMI is =
receiving attention. Having dealt with abstracting a natural object as a =
motif, I have explored the ways it can be used to embellish almost any =
pot. The article is almost complete
But in recent months I have been spending prime time with the jewellers =
saw and other tools, giving clay a bit of a miss.
Once again clay and glaze have started to dominate my time. It has taken =
a week to construct an original suite of 108 recipes, that is, three 6*6 =
tiles using four components. These samples are predicted to grade from =
matt white and opaque through to colourless, transparent glossy and, if =
my theory continues to hold up (as it has for the past ten years), there =
will be no crazing on the principle clay. I am wondering if the residual =
iron will induce some good pale Celadon types which imitate translucent =
Burmese Jadeite.
