Please permit me to use the information you gave relating to the =
interpretation of the readings from an Oxyprobe.
You suggest ....or so. There seems to be almost no such thing as, say, a .4. There =
appears to be a very steep slope between neutral and fairly strong =
reduction; you are in one condition or the other, but almost never in =
between.>
I have just had a look at the table which gives the degree of =
concentration of Oxygen in the atmosphere at selected temperatures and =
output readings.
I draw the following conclusions.
1 As temperature rises, for any particular reading value the =
concentration of Oxygen increases.
2 The opinion of the compiler of the table is that conditions are =
reducing if the Oxygen concentration is less than one hundredth of one =
percent.
3 If the atmosphere can be adjusted to get a probe reading of greater =
than 0.3 those oxides which respond to reduction will do so to =
temperatures higher that 1300=B0C.
As usual with these things, the caveat for all must be "Learn to read =
your own kiln from the results you get".
