In a past life, I was a theatre props person. Among my old cronies, we =
all agree that "The Prop Builder's Molding and Casting Handbook" by =
Thurston James is by far the most thorough reference tool for making =
various kinds of molds. It goes through materials, where to find those =
materials, definitions, how-to, etc. In my opinion, it's a must-have =
that might not be well-known among potters since it's usually found in =
the theatre section of the bookstore. =

I had a chance to take a workshop with him, a
number of years ago. It was sponsored by the
university theater department, so I was told
that 'first dibs' would go to theater students,
and others could sign up if space remained. I
was thrilled to get a spot in the class, and
amazed that it wasn't filled up by students.
They really missed out! I bought this book at
that time, and still refer to it fo its wide
range of techniques. Good for more than props!
