Have any of you ever melted the plunger on your kiln-sitter?
I did it last night and would like to know if this is some strange event or
one that I should have heard of at some point? Yes, it is a porcelain
plunger on a LT-3K , with a controller. Programed for 100/hr rise to 200
then full power till about 2000. 13 hours later, the kiln was at 265 and
the plunger was bent. About three hours had elapsed on the limit timer.
Any advice?
Thanks, Annabelle in Naples, where it was not quite so humid this A.M. but
the a/c is still on.......

This is the first I've heard of such a thing...
it was the PLUNGER that melted? And at such
low temperatures? Truly bizarre!
