WOW again -

You guys are knocking my socks off !!

Two years ago when I asked about web commerce nobody had much good to
report. Not many showing much interest. Obviously you all headed into a
closed room and hit the books.

First, I got more response in the first hour than I got in total last
time.
Second, the DIY gang is alive & well and kicking butt
Third , WOW again. Great work showcased extremely well

Please keep sending your web addresses along with the details of how
you got it up and running.

Thanks so much

Chris Campbell - in North Carolina - where I am still awake, long after
midnight visiting all these great sites.

We are at http://www.alittlecompany.net I'm no techie and neither is my
husband, so we paid someone about $2,000 for this site. It has been
invaluable to have it...it has paid for itself many times. I still don't run
it. I hire Ron Hinsdale at hinsdale@frontiernet.net who is reasonable and a
great guy, to add and remove things for me. MY one bit of advice is that we
were paying $100 a month for hosting, which is absurd. We just didn't know
any better. True, it included monitoring and putting on the site what I
wanted, but it still wasn't worth that. Now I've registered it myself with
Bulk Register and pay a little over $5 a month, after paying about $70 for
the domain...far less than I was paying.

Good luck, Shelley

this has come up before, but just incase someone needs the info that didn't
see this in the past... there is also a big possibility of free hosting
space... many online providers give you free web space, if you do a search
online for free webspace youwill find lots.
graffiti.net is a new one that i found (new to me anyway) and it seems quite
good.

Dear Chris (and all Clayarters)

For a fine resource for finding Clayarters with a web presence, go to:
, a page of links maintained by
Bill Amsterlaw (with occasional input from me.)

Or "The Potters Portal" under Clayart Potters at
http://users.skynet.be/russel.fouts/favorite.htm

Also with occasional input from Helen.

Actually, if you have included your link in your signature and I've seen
it in your post. It's been added here.

I just saw this message and took a peek at your page. I bought a set of
two windows from you at Ann Arbor this summer, you were set up near me. I
have admired your stuff at fair after fair. I very rarely buy. But this
time I did and I just love looking at them.

Our webpage, btw, is homemade, my husband being a techie. Give it a looksee!

> Wow, cool site and fantastic work. I've seen your work and admired it at
the fairs. I'm very honored that you bought my little windows. Lucky you
having a techie husband...mine won't even turn on the computer by
himself...but he's built us a nice house.
I'm struggling at the technical aspect of pottery...never studied pottery in
school and learned to sculpt on my own and now I'm starting on a new
direction and trying to figure things out...after 30 years at it! I'm faced
now with a decision on materials and maybe you can help. I've been given a
commission to produce a backsplash for a stove, so it has to be glazed. I
would like to do it as low fire as I can and still have it really durable. A
clay supplier told me that ^5 would be less likely to crack than ^1 or
2...But this needs to be colored and I would be using underglazes at least
on part of it, and the customer also wants crackle glazes. Do you agree with
this? I want a nice clear white...The reliefs I've done haven't cracked in
my ^9 Bmix, but the colors would be washed out in that range.

Thanks,
Shelley
