The Nottingham Center for the Arts is ready for an additional artist(s)
in residence. I'm sending this, in advance of other advertising, to
Clayart because you all have many connections and friends who may be
interested.

We have a very large studio complex with a fully equipped ceramics
facility equal to most colleges. The residency will be for one year with
the possibility of additional years renewal.

Residency includes: housing at the center in a single wide mobil home,
studio, all utilities for home and studio, full use of all equipment and
kilns, paid participation in conferences such as NCECA and CCACA, and a
generous use of materials.

What we are looking for is a ceramic artist who is talented and
dedicated to furthering their career as a ceramic artist. Someone who is
very knowledgeable in all aspects of the ceramic arts ( kilns, studio
management, glazes, etc.). We require our residents to give
approximately two days a week work to the center in return for the
residency. We want someone, or a couple, who not only want to expand
their career but also want to help the vision of the Nottingham Center
grow. We have need for someone who is skilled in
management/office/regiatrar/computer office skills.

The center currently has a full ceramic artist resident, Jesse Martin,
who is the ceramics lab tech. and a studio resident, Mike Giddings. We
also have two studio residents working in figure sculpture and bronze
casting ( Roxanne McCaulley and Vladimir Medencia ). Aside from a very
complete ceramics facility, we have a complete wood working shop, a well
stocked tool room and hardaware store house, and new bronze casting
facilities. We are currently building a hot glass studio.

More details on the artist residency stuff will be on our web site soon.
I wanted to give advance notice to my clayart buds and ask that you
spread the info. to your friends and colleagues. Please send this
information to your friends.
