Tom's message reminded me that this is one situation where dry mixing
helps,

this response raised a question about bentonite for me - i have several clay
body recipes with bentonite and have been told to mix the bentonite with
water before adding it to the rest of my dry clay mixture, but this sounds
like you do just the opposite in glaze mixing - how do you handle bentonite
in clay bodies - do you add water first to the bentonite or do you dry mix
the bentonite in with everything else and then add water?
