Dear Caroline Austin,
This sounds like a challenging exercise.
I would have thought that any form of mat surface, even something as =
smooth as a satin mat, would be due to the formation of crystals and =
that these would lead to some degree of opacity resulting in obscurity =
of whatever was under the glaze.
However, I could see glazes being developed which included Magnesia that =
were applied thinly.

I am presently researching Satin or semi-matt glazes for cone 6 to 8. I need
some advice please. The glazes needs to have a good colour responce as it
will be over coloured clay bodies.
No mention of thermal expansion please!!!!!
