white spotting in maiolica glaze

Just exactly what does "White Spotting" look like in a maiolica glaze?

I'm getting what looks like specks of white paint on the surface of a
clear miaolica glaze (no opacifier yet).

The surface is bright, smooth, shiny and fairly clear, none running with
these dry little specks of white on it (not very many). When you run
your fingernail over them, you can feel the change in texture. (Fairly
clear means that the glaze is clear except for lots of tiny bubbles in
it which I'm not too worried about at this point).

I think "white spotting", usually caused by outgassing from the bisque,
is something different.

Could it possibly be specks of a refractory contaminant from one of the
materials?

I'm working on a maiolica glaze based on Mathias Ostermann's #1, Orton
Cone 05:

60.0 Ferro 3124
10.0 Ferro 3195
6.5 Ball Clay (Bell Dark)
6.5 Kaolin (EPK)
4.0 Silica
2.0 Whiting
11.0 Zircopax

I don't have the Silica, whiting or Zircopax yet but I tried the glaze
as so, just to see what would happen. This is the glaze with my
ingredients and adjusted to 100%, Cone 04 in 6 hrs, with a 1hr soak

72.29 g Ferro 3124
12.05 g Ferro 3195
07.83 g Ball Clay (WBB ESVA)
07.83 g Kaolin (analysis unknown)
80.00? ml water (it's in my notebook which is at the studio)
Sieved through a very fine kitchen sieve.

Thanks in advance
