I am looking for a simple terra sig formula that takes color well. Is there
one out there? Is it even possible? I've seen it in books and magazines but
I have yet to find a recipe that is feasible for me to complete. Can you
help?

Joe -
Val Cushing has written instructions about terra sig
in his HANDBOOK and previously in Studio Potter. This
includes how to make it without a ball mill which I
have done, am doing and yes, it works.
How a given terra sig takes color seems to me to be
directly related to the clay used. Although TS is
thought of as low fire earthenware, a high fire
version using a white clay is possible. What do you
have in mind?

Just ball clay and mason stain.
Why use a recipe?
