I have a student who is going to be moving to Anchorage, Alaska at the first
of the year. Are there any pottery schools or studios that she could check
out?
Thanks

Though I have been gone from Alaska a long spell now, I don't recall any
clay schools per se, but the University there did include clay in their
art curriculum. It's worth checking out.

Alaska Potter, a student of Rudy Staffel in PA, Alex Combs started a good ceramics program in Anchorage in the 1950-70s at Anchorage Community College. Now mostly absorbed by the University of Alaska, Anchorage, I believe, but you should check out ACC and UAA for ceramics classes in Anchorage.
There were other private studios that offered classes too... Alice Martin and others. Also: Contact Alaska Pottery Supply Co.?
Other CURRENT Anchorage resident potters lurk out there...what say you?

The Montessori School in Anchorage obviously has a very good ceramics
teacher in Julie Matthews, as well as an equipped studio/space... I know,
because Julie and some her pupils made some really lovely tiles for The
Path!
But I expect your student is in a slightly older age group?
As an aside: we call youngsters/children up to age 16-17 "pupils" and
others18+ "students" in the UK. It sure helps to save confusion on such
occasions!
Sincerely
