Harry Fraser in "Glazes for the Craft Potter" has clear explanations of
deflocculation and flocculation. And suggest the addition of up to 3%
Bentonite to the dry glaze mix, and a few drops of calcium chloride. Now
despite the fact that some glaze INGREDIENTS in and of themselves act as
flocculants and deflocculants (LOOK THEM UP) it should become a basic habit
to make these additions to any but slip (very high clay) glazes.
