Just wanted you all to know that we had a great week in Florida. Pottery
wise, if you go to Naples you must look for Annabelle Johnson. She answered
my query on Clayart and ended up picking me up at the condo where we stayed
and took me to meet her friend and teacher, Rinny Ryan. We had a great visit
and as always, I learned so much. Rinny has been making pots for 40 years
and is a wealth of knowledge and talent. Just being around her was an
inspiration, not only seeing her work, but seeing that twinkle in her eye
about life and clay work. My thanks to Annabelle who was so kind to do all
that. She too is a great person dedicated to striving for excellence and
teaching those coming up behind her. More art centers are developing in the
area and it sounds like even more good things will be happening on the clay
scene down there in the coming years. Also visited Jim Rice at his shop and
studio. He makes fish of every shape and size. Very colorful work. So
thank you Clayart friends for all your suggestions and help. Happy
Thanksgiving. Toni Smith in Ohio
