request for website with certain tools

Hi Everyone,

I have a request and would appreciate any help. Sometime ago, someone
suggested a website for pottery tools. It has all sorts of wooden tools. =
Of
particular interest to me, were some potter's thumbs, not the usual ones
you see but rather long ones, which were described as an extension of a
potter's thumb! There was also a set of wooden ribs, one convex and one
concave, that match each other, for inside and outside, when shaping pots=
.
It was a great website and I have lost it. It was not Chris, not Sondahl,=

not Chinese Clayart, noy hank murrow, not tools4clay. If anyone can help =
me
out, I would really appreciate it. I would like to get myself a couple of=

Christmas presents!

Thank you in advance.

Happy Holidays to everyone on the list, and may 2003 be a good year for a=
ll
of you and for the world.

Veena,

The tool maker that you refer to is (I think) David Henley (not David
Hendley, the famous Texas potter). I cannot now find Henley's email
address. I do remember that he uses the word "hominid" in his
website--which I cannot locate. I am writing this in the hope that this
will jog some Clayarter's memory to fill you in.

Apologies all around.

Mel is right: the tool maker that Veena is looking for is (I think) Chris
(not David) Henley whose website is www.dch999@hominid.net.

Veena asked about wood pottery tools.
Try Chris Henley, I am ordering some for my own gifts, but have not seen
them 'in the flesh' so cannot vouch for actual quality:

I can vouch for quality. Chris Henley makes some of
the most beautiful tools I've ever seen. I have a number
of them, and they do what they should. The extra is -
they are beautiful objects.

I ordered some tools from Chris - it was a wonderful experience. He emailed
photos of each tool after he'd made it and before it was shipped. I'm a
hand builders, so my needs might be different from yours, but I've found
that the tools are a joy to hold and use. My favorite is a clever little
gadget that cuts a perfect 45 degree angle for joining slabs at right
angles!

I think you'll be pleased...
