kiln controller -- full power??

I have built a kiln controller that controls ramps/dwells/etc from an Omega
CN1234. Works like a champ on my small enameling kiln. Now I would like
to use it on my L&L kiln. The easiest way to do this is have the
controller activate a solid state relay (SSR)(BIG one)to turn the elements
on and off. Now the question:

To make the opereration completely automatic I would need to turn all three
of the switches on the existing controller to HI and let the Omega/SSR turn
the power on and off. Since the Omega seems to be pretty good at
controling ramp rate I think that this would work.

Does anyone see any problems with this arrangement?

Many big thanks in advance.

Interesting! I can't find CN1234 in the Omega site or catalog, however.
Could you tell me where to look?

Roger, building a monster electric kiln that needs days-long ramps for
drying large sculptural pieces.

Roger, it is an older model. The new one that most closely resembles it is
the CN132. Check www.omega.com and search for that PN. Also it is more
expensive now at $169 but still just about the most inexpensive way to go.
Fuji also makes a similar controller. I built my rig for under $200 and I
can move it from kiln to kiln as needed with little effort (or such is the
plan). At the present it is controling the enameling kiln and a drying
kiln.

Take care
