The Val Cushing 04 clear glaze I was using now crazes and clouds on =
Highwater's Stan's Red earthenware body. Before I commit to testing, =
testing, testing I would like to hear from a potter using THIS =
COMMERCIAL CLAY BODY with a clear glaze recipe that fits. I believe the =
problem ingredient is a long unused bag of GB which I resurrected from =
the depths of the store room, and I expect to make up a fritted glaze =
this time around. I have lots of glaze recipes and can adjust a glaze =
to fit, but Xmas is closing in. I'm embarrassed to do this but hope =
there is an instant fix out there! Thanks, Lori Pierce in New Port =
Richey, feeling good, all breaks healed and finally working again. =
Tried one of those wooden centering devices but we are NOT enchanted.

Lorraine,

Before you blame the GB, I know that Highwater has ceased to get A.P. Green
(RHI) Fireclay. It was too difficult to get, too large a quanity, too
expensive, or something like that. So they have subsitiuted Hawthorne Bond
Clay.

You might ask them for the specifics, but this is my understanding.

So I am sure that the exp/cont of the body has changed.

Hope that helps,
