today is friday the 13th.
we opened a virgin anagama at the college here, and we
saw and felt that all the kiln gods and goddesses were
smiling at us!
to see so many beauties coming out from this brand
new anagama kiln was a fantastic thing!
phillip ahnen, who is teaching here this semester
built the anagama kiln, (he also built a woodkiln here
a year ago) and the anagama was fired last week and
weekend with all his students and friends...
i will put some pictures up later if anyone wants to
see them... gorgeous shinos...carbon traps...
ashes...flashing flame colors...
oh, and we had some osage oranges fired too---never
seen anything like that before, amazingly beautiful...
i`m still so excited, if you havent noticed!
