Anyone know a source for parts for Brent Wheels?

Specifically The electronic controller and foot switch or replacement
resistors for foot switch.

I read a post awhile back about using a Baldor speed controller as a
replacement, if you have done this, how do you retrofit the speed pot into
the foot switch?

Much Thanks, and Good Wishes

A couple of years ago I retrofitted an old Alpine wheel with a Baldor
controller. It was mentioned on Clayart. The Alpine foot pedal uses an
ordinary wire wound potentiometer that only had to be changed to the
correct value for the Baldor controller. In addition to the controller I
had to make a filter circuit for the dc to the motor as it was too noisy
without it.
If I remember correctly Brent pedals have a linear slider type of
potentiometer and two trimmer potentiometers of a very cheap type. They are
things that you can get from a complete electronic parts distributer like
Digikey, Arrow, Gerber, Allied, etc.
Before settling on the Baldor I tried to fit a Brent controller board to
the Baldor motor . I got the board as a spare part from a Tacoma WA,
pottery place. I had poor results trying to run the Baldor motor on the
Brent control. (The Baldor motor has a wound field instead of a permanent
magnet field as is used nowdays and although that gives marvelous control
with a controller built for it it did not work with the Brent control which
is actually just a simple dimmer type circuit. The wound field requires its
own DC supply also separate from the armature.)
