Hi,
While the artist did make some poor judgments on the
installation and placement of his piece, it is absurd
to say that he is "youthfully arrogant" and deserves
ten years in a federal pen. Have you ever visited a
federal jail? Ten years?
It is clear that he was concerned about the state
of fear many of us live under. If people considered
the tyranny of their fear as much as they considered
how to punish others for it, we would have less of a
problem. As far as "youthful arrogance," an old
aphorism says desire is the sin of the young,
prejudice the sin of the old.
Rather than call this artist a misguided brat, we
should consider him our superior. Poorly done or not,
at least he tried to do something about it. I'm
inspired by this young man and those on the list who
are courageous enough to stick up for him.
