Even if the boxes had been white and emblazoned with "Peace", "Hope" or =
"Charity" in gold leaf the institutional security response would have =
been identical.
You need to live in a country where terrorism has been the order of the =
day for many decades to know that strong reactions are not paranoia but =
designed to protect the public at large from the menace within.
I recall an innocent "business man's" brief case closing the centre of a =
northern city for a day and disrupting the lives of most people. The =
Bomb Squad found it was what it appeared to be.
Or consider the inconvenience of travel facilities where there are no =
provisions for the temporary storage of hand luggage when people are in =
transit and would like to do some sight seeing.
Like it or not, there is a new order in the World and that young =
artist's work provided a good illustration of the change in human =
behaviour in a country which has not endured long term threats.
