1. check specials for major airlines. I sign up for internet specials.
Northwest , especially ,has several flights between 2 cities..
2. in addition to checking specials for the major airlines, check out
Sun Country airlines. It is a small Minnesota airline which gets you
norsky folks down here to sunny climes when you need it most, so you
don't all get cabin fever and hack each other up with grandma's axe.
Better to get you down here here where you can wield a maracas and a
margarita instead, virgin or not (the margarita, that is)
Sun Country has a direct flight between San Diego and Minneapolis. Last
year I had a Frontier flight between the 2 cities which got canceled,
and I got re-ticketed on a Sun Country flight. it was just fine, and a
direct flight too.
plus side: their regular rates are LOW! minus side: they don't have too
many flights, maybe one per day...
other item of note... for lunch they serve tiny little cheeseburgers....
very odd, but the flight attendants were so nice and jolly, who cares,
it seemed kind of novel. I hope they are still in business, they are so
small, but don't worry, they have big planes and they take care of them!
