but still doesn't reach cone 6 consistently
Hi Everyone,
I have a Skutt 714 digital kiln that is not reaching cone 6 consistently.
Sometimes it reaches cone 6 and sometimes I get an Error 1 message. I have
checked the elements and they are all glowing, and I can hear the relays
opening and closing. Is it still possible that the elements are breaking
down at higher temperatures, even though they seem to be working? Also, I
am firing in my garage. Could it be possible that the cold weather is
preventing the kiln from reaching temperature before the preset trigger time
for the error message to display? (I think the error message is triggered
if the kiln doesn't reach temperature within 21 minutes of the estimated
time it should reach temp.)
Any advice or thoughts?
We are still waiting for snow or rain in the foothills of Colorado.
