Chicago area Clay Arters: My work is being featured at Function + Art
Gallery on 1046 W. Fulton Market in Chicago from January 10- February 3.
This is large scale stoneware sculpture. You can see a preview at
www.functionart.com/chicago.html . I plan to be there tomorow night
(Jan. 10) for an opening from 6-9 pm. If you come, say "hi". Jay
Dougan and Sharon Bladholm will also be showing and will have separate
"Spotlight Openings". And there is work by Patrick Dragon, James
Spiroff, Stephen Merritt, Kathy Triplett, Christopher Gryder, Kristin
Gudjonsdotir, and Joe Klingler.

bob,
i'm a midwest clayarter up here in sturgeon bay, wisconsin
going a little nuts and looking for an excuse to get out of town.
visited the site, saw the pictures of your work, even read your
artist statement from beginning to end. impressed, but i'm usually
impressed. i'm not about to be spending big dollars on art right
now so reply if you are interested but...
we can build images on stoneware ,and not freaking decals stuff
either. geez. we engrave then add colorants. look up kurt
wild if you care, that's what we are doing but computer driven.
BIG stuff possible, i'm talking walls. 100,000s of details handled
by the software, it all needs direction, i'm mostly an engineer with
decent art instincts.
anyway if your interested, or have an artist buddy down there that
is we have the economics of this under good control now, the slabs
are all hand made and can be irregular, i have samples, and i'm looking
for an excuse to get out of town so fulton market could happen.
best,
george koller
