tammy's cold inconsistent kiln

Someone who knows will have to tell you about those automatic kilns.

This turn-the-button potter can tell you this. VOLTAGE DROP. Said it
before bears repeating. When we first moved to the country I had trouble
firing my Skutt to c. 6 in winter. To make long story bearable, having read
someplace about voltage drop, I checked and yes: when the neighbors were
milking in the winter dark--using lots of light as well as the machines--
there was enough voltage drop to deprive my kiln. There was enough voltage
for Low and Medium: so I started the kiln at 3:00 AM and all went well...

And I would expect that plain cold would affect the time too. But ahve
someone check the voltage....
