One approach I've used is to glue (with shoe goo, works so far; epoxy
putty didn't) ceramic labels onto discarded metal box strapping. The
strapping could be folded double, with the middle section again folded
down at an angle for easy reading. The strapping rusts, but that's a
compatible look in a garden .. or so some feel. Lesley
