Dear Hank

I nearly forgot the most important part of your previous post . Some real
information - you fire a meter square kiln on 15 therms of gas . I have
looked through my reference books and I can find conversion tables and
formulas for every thing except therms. If you could give me that in btu or
gallons of gas or liters of gas or cubic feet of gas , I would be grateful
--or just how many btu's in a therm.

I have been looking through some of the industrial sites they seem to be
obsessed with fast firing I suppose cheaper is better for them.

I think my computer problem is at last fixed.

Dear Paul;

A therm = 100,000 BTU. Therefore, the kiln fires on 1,800,000 BTU ($15
USD) for 30 hour cycle including cooling soak. Hey, I just opened the
kiln this morning after firing some 24" x 24" wall plaques raw with my
Shinos on them. One half inch thick, fired dead flat, and are gorgeous!
They go in a show next week. They REALLY benefited from the slow firing.

Cheers, Hank
