Galen:

My husband and I also just fired our new wood kiln a few weeks ago. Temps
were below zero, about -1 or 2 C. A little trick that I learned from TC at
his workshop last year at Sheridan College was to use white glue to put the
"dufurs" (wadding) on. The advantage is that you can wad way ahead of time,
fill ware carts or studio shelves with pots to be loaded. The glue dries
hard and won't fall off when transferring or loading pots. Worked like a
charm for us and I wadded in the comfort of our studio, let them dry
overnight and then we loaded in the am. Good luck!
